The right person for you to ask for assistance with your licensure questions

I have worked with Tyrone for nearly 20 years and I have been a social worker for over 35 years.  Mr. Willoughby worked for many years at the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiner's and he was the supervisor of their licensing department.  I cannot tell you how many times I needed to call him for clarification, or directions with the supervisee I had who required guidance regarding getting there licensure completed to be able to take their certification exam.  He took, what at times, was a challenging, if not, confusing process, an added clarity and concise directions on how to rectify the problem and get the person certified with all the proper paperwork they needed.  I feel that Mr. Willoughby is the right person for you to ask for assistance with your licensure questions.

He has always shown compassion and commitment towards the clients he served

I have known Mr. Tyrone Willoughby, Jr., LCSW-C professionally for over 26 years. As a psychotherapist, he has always shown compassion and commitment towards the clients he served. During his eleven-year tenure at the Board of Social Work Examiners, Mr. Willoughby, Jr. transferred that compassion and commitment to his clients towards the applicants in making sure they were following the laws and COMAR regulations of the State of Maryland concerning social work practice. His drive to help other social workers succeed is only surpassed by the remarkable service that he has provided and continues to provide to the clients he serves every day.

So appreciative of Tyrone’s time and expertise!

I had a new hire with a macro background. As they are working to gain their clinical hours, I reached Tyrone to review their transcript to make sure they would be able to sit for the clinical exam once the time came. Tyrone reviewed it in less than 12 hours and confirmed they had the clinical course work needed to be eligible to take the clinical exam. We were both so appreciative of Tyrone’s time and expertise!

One of the best points of insight into the process

In my experience in working with the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners I found that Mr. Tyrone Willoughby was one of the best points of insight into the process for securing a license in the state. Tyrone was able to give me not only the statute and legislation which governs the licensee at all levels from LMSW to LCSW-C, but he was able to walk me through the process from graduation in a Master's program to becoming fully licensed. As he worked to approve licenses within the state he did so from the professional ethical viewpoint and made no qualms about wanting to hold the social work profession to the highest of standards in effort to keep the profession honest, and in protecting the public from unwarranted harm. Tyrone knows the process, understands the reasons behind the legislation, and has demonstrated time and again his understanding of rules, regulations, and guidelines utilized within the profession. If anyone were to ask for someone to speak with regarding obtaining a license my immediate thought would go to Tyrone. While others are staffed at the board and have their own insights I found that his level of insight and explanation of the regulations make the process to obtaining a license so much less complicated than what I have heard from others. One would also note that he will work to ensure two things occur; the individual becomes licensed, and that the public is protected. It's a win-win for all.
